I am Gururaj Vasudev Moorching. I spell god as ‘N-A-T-U-R-E’.

I was pushed into photography by couple of my childhood friends during early 2011. I now wish I had jumped into it much earlier, long before I began my numerous travels and treks outside the country and within.

Being interested in nature and plant life, I had not paid attention to fauna till 2011 February, when I visited Kaziranga National Park.

I was drawn into my teammates conversations on birds and elephant behaviour. Animal psychology was a non existant subject for me till then. I always marveled at the life of plants & trees. The reasons and roles of their existence and their beauty.

During this trip, I was introduced into the role of fauna into sustenance of forests and mutual social struggles. Their mastery of leveraging each others resources, framed by unwritten cooperative laws. Their companionship in fighting extinction. Survival makes strange bedfellows among flora, fauna, ant world, bees & butterflies and so on…

I should have slung a camera around my neck long before.

The sculpture of trees which I felt, held and admired, now appears, more complete with wings, nests and the hungry young beaks. Flowers with their evolved architecture, look purposeful.

Photography is now my newfound hobby.

No Jargons and technical stuff, owing to a sluggish left brain. No discussions on focal lengths and conversions.

No nomenclature. I have classified the birds and animals with common names. Some wrong entries have crept in, which I will correct over time.

Just a shot from the heart and an attempt to capture the expressions of wild life.

If pictures could speak ???....

Thanks to their flittery nature, I have captured more empty perches.

I have more often returned with empty memory cards. I had just one sighting of Srilankan frog mouth during a three day visit to Thattekad.

Whether the bird is a common one or rare doesn’t matter. I enjoy shooting mynas as much.

I look forward to being influenced by your ‘focus of view’.

I will continue my ramblings on the blog.
